How do LocalCard cards work?
LocalCard gift cards work like traditional gift cards but without any wastage. Delivered as digital Visa prepaid cards, they can be used in store or online.
What happens to unused card value?
If the card is never activated, it can be cancelled and the funds are refunded to your account. Any partial balance remaining on the card can be donated, or used for other purchases by the recipient.
Can I use LocalCard cards anywhere?
It depends on the card type. Our open loop card can be used at any business that accepts Visa, while merchant, category and GEO locked cards are restricted to the places you choose.
How long do LocalCard cards last?
LocalCard cards have a standard 3 year expiration period. Recipients receive notifications before expiration, and any unused funds are credited back to your account upon expiration.
Is there a fee for using LocalCard?
LocalCard charges a small processing fee when you issue a card. There are no additional fees for recipients when using the card.
Can I track my card usage?
Yes. LocalCard provides real-time tracking of card usage, including spending activity and remaining balance, accessible through your account dashboard.
